Essential Information and Support Networks
Navigating the landscape of veteran services can be overwhelming. While Coast to Coast Non-Profit provides direct advocacy and coordination, we also want to ensure you’re aware of the broader network of resources available to support your journey toward wellness.
Immediate Crisis Resources
Understanding Your VA Benefits
The Department of Veterans Affairs provides a wide range of healthcare, disability, education, and housing benefits. However, understanding what you’re entitled to and how to access these benefits can be challenging. Our advocates specialize in helping veterans navigate this system, but here are some key starting points:
VA Healthcare Enrollment:
Veterans may be eligible for VA healthcare based on service history, income, and disability status. Enrollment is the first step to accessing mental health services and other medical care through the VA system.
Disability Compensation:
Veterans who were injured or became ill due to military service may be eligible for monthly compensation payments. The process can be complex, and our team can help connect you with appropriate resources for filing or appealing claims.
Education Benefits:
The GI Bill and other education programs can provide funding for college, vocational training, and professional certifications. These benefits can be crucial for veterans transitioning to civilian careers.
Treatment Approaches That Work for Veterans
Trauma-Informed Care

Effective treatment for veterans often requires providers who understand military culture and service-related trauma. We connect veterans with programs specifically designed for their unique experiences.

Evidence-Based Therapies

Treatments like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) have shown particular effectiveness for veterans dealing with PTSD and trauma.

Peer Support

Connection with other veterans who have faced similar challenges can be incredibly powerful. Many of our referral partners incorporate peer support into their treatment models.

Family and Caregiver Resources

Recovery affects entire families, not just individual veterans. Resources are available for spouses, children, and other family members who may need support, education, or their own counseling services while supporting a veteran’s recovery journey.

Financial Assistance and Emergency Support

Various organizations provide emergency financial assistance for veterans facing housing crises, utility shutoffs, or other immediate needs. While Coast to Coast doesn’t provide direct financial assistance, we can quickly connect you with organizations that do.

Employment and Career Services

Many veterans benefit from specialized employment services that understand how to translate military skills into civilian careers. These services often include resume writing, interview preparation, and connections with veteran-friendly employers.

Legal and Benefits Advocacy

While our organization focuses on health and wellness advocacy, we maintain referral relationships with legal aid organizations and benefits advocates who can assist with more complex claims, appeals, and legal matters.

Community Organizations

Local VFW posts, American Legion chapters, and other veteran service organizations provide community connection, advocacy, and often emergency assistance. Our advocates can help connect you with active organizations in your area.
